On September 8 we hosted the second REVOLUTION Digital: a two-hour live video broadcast, hosted by EV advocates Roger Atkins and Angelika Berger-Sodian, that featured interviews, interactive sessions, including a Startup competition! Industry experts and thought leaders participated in engaging conversations about various developments and trends in the eMobility industry.

"WE ARE ONE PEOPLE, TRAVELING ON ONE PLANET, TOWARDS ONE FUTURE."
- Ron Garan (NASA astronaut), REVOLUTION 2019 keynote speaker

Want to know what we learned?
At REVOLUTION 2019, we gathered attendees from 57 countries to share ideas and solutions to accelerate the transition to a zero-emission future. We were inspired by keynotes from out of this world (literally) from NASA, HyperloopTT, Volkswagen, ENGIE and more.
In the afternoon we worked in various workshops and brainstorms, engaged with eMobility professionals in the Market Place, and learned about the latest cleantech innovations from companies such as Carver and Etergo.

It's time for mobility REVOLUTIONARIES to step up

"Do you believe that it’s five to twelve o’clock?
If you think that there’s nothing to worry about, and we have enough time to make a drastic change, then stay seated in your chair. Stand up if you think “yes, there’s barely any time left to make a drastic change.”
Well, I see you standing. And that’s impressive. Thank you for such a massive commitment.
But please, sit down again, because you’re too late! It’s not five to twelve—it’s twelve o’clock now."
- Kristof Vereenooghe. CEO EVBox
"THOSE WHO SAY IT CAN'T BE DONE,
SHOULD NOT INTERRUPT THOSE DOING IT"
- Chinese proverb by Dirk Ahlborn (CEO HyperloopTT), REVOLUTION 2019 keynote speaker
Ron Garan and his orbital perspective

During his opening keynote at REVOLUTION 2019, Ron Garan claimed that "the decisions we are making right now concerning the future of mobility are powerful tools to effect real change". He encourages us to remember the image of Earthrise, an image that has influenced his life, and to work together to create a world based on an orbital perspective. Read more about this in his keynote-inspired blogpost.
Volkswagen's electric future
At REVOLUTION 2019 Martin Roemheld (Head of eMobility Services, Volkswagen) presented on how the Volkswagen brands are undergoing a massive transformation towards electrification, and how this impacts the Volkswagen organization and resources. We've summarized their plans and projections for you in blog format.

Lessons from the city of Amsterdam
Besides its beautiful canals and many bikes, Amsterdam is also recognized internationally as a front-runner in sustainable infrastructure. After REVOLUTION we sat down with Amsterdam officials Bertold Plugboer and Mathieu Wijnen, to talk about their city, the challenges it's facing, and the learnings from Amsterdam's REVOLUTION 2019 Conference workshop.

The MarketPlace

This year's MarketPlace featured some of the coolest innovations in cleantech. Carver and Etergo proved that urban mobility is on the rise, while Everon and ChargeTrip showed us the importance of software for eMobility, as witnessed by the EVBox charging stations on display. Meanwhile on stage, Gireve and Avere taught REVOLUTIONARIES about creating an integrated charging network across Europe.

Electrive Studio
The Market Place also hosted the Electrive video studio, interviewing some of the thought leaders who attended the cleantech event. Scroll down for the some of the videos.
Confessing Climate Sins
REVOLUTION 2019 launched the world's first ever Climate Sin Confessions booth: a place for attendees with a guilty conscience to confess their sins against the climate.
Which sins do you think were confessed the most?
Embracing exponential technologies
Singularity University focusses on preparing leaders and organizations for the future. Their workshop allowed attendees to explore the opportunities and implications of "exponential" technologies. They also connected exponential technologies that are shaping the future and solving the world's most urgent problems—such as virtual reality and genetically modified organisms—to our global ecosystem.

"FOUR YEARS AGO, WE HAD A CHOICE TO MAKE: BE PART OF THE PROBLEM OR PART OF THE SOLUTION. THAT'S HOW WE (ENGIE) BECAME THE PIONEER IN RENEWABLE ENERGY."
- Isabelle Kocher (CEO ENGIE), REVOLUTION 2019 keynote speaker
